Blackjack has been following the standard "Las Vegas Strip" rules with one deck of 52 cards till now there raises a new popularity of six decks involving in Blackjack at more online Blackjack casinos.
Anyway, the main object of blackjack is to get the total of your cards to be closer to 21 than the dealer's cards, without going over 21. In blackjack, Aces count as either 1 or 11, determined by the total of you cards. Face cards are valued as 10 and number cards as their face value. For instance, two face cards makes 20, a 9 and an Ace makes 10 or 20, an Ace and a 3 and a face card makes 14 or 24( based on the rules we mentioned before, 24 is unacceptable.) If you have an Ace and a 10-value card as your first two cards, there is a "blackjack" which is the highest hand and you will win back 1.5 times your wager from the dealer unless the dealer also possesses a blackjack (means if your bet was $20, you receive $50). If your cards total value is closer to 21 than the dealer's, you get back double of you bet (means if your bet was $20, you receive $40). If the total of your cards exceeds 21, you lose your bet because you "bust". If you have the same card total with the dealer (which has to be 17 and up), no one win and the bet will roll back in a "push". One thing should been noticed is that at some of casinos the house could be adjudged winning on a tie (since it made promise to give the house much more of an edge at first, which is unworthy to be suggested).

Hitting And Standing
"Stand" is a choice that not to take cards any more when you are confident with your first 2 cards. "Hit" is to keep taking one more card if you think the dealer would probably have a better hand than yours. You can keep hitting until you are content with your hand or you "bust" unfortunately.
At most online Casinos, the dealers must "stand" if they have 17 or more, and they must "hit" if they have less than 17, while the rest casinos' house rules permit the "hit" by dealer on a soft 17. Remember to check out the site rules of your favorite casino at first before putting out money from your pocket.
Splitting
If you take first 2 cards with same point value, you may "split" them into two hands with a required second bet placed, which equals to your initial wager. Then you could proceed to hit, stand or split in according with the rules when the dealer deal cards to the first hand. Unless you complete your first hand the dealer will not deal a card to the second hand. The number of the cards drawn by you is depending on you decision. But the thing you need to keep in mind is that, if you split two Aces, you can only receive one additional card for each hand, and even if one of your hands totals 21, it will be counted as 21 rather than a blackjack.
Double Down
After you have been dealt 2 cards, and felt that a next card will make you beat the dealer's hand, you can double your original wager if you wish. It always happens if the first 2 cards total 9, 10 or 11—surely, there are also some different totals that allow you to do so depending on the rules of various online casinos. Once your bet is doubled, you are allowed to take only one more hit.
